This is a rare look at both the H28 fleet and the club in 1991.
PC Bruce Williams is the interviewer and seems to be having a great deal of fun introducing the various faces and people. He intended to take the finished piece with him over to Melbourne to show the Melbourne fleets what the H28's of Perth (and the club) were like.
Many thanks to John Wright who had this cd stored away safely.

From the Retro races
While I was busy pointing cameras at everyone, Gina Pickering (bless the girl) had the iphone out and was making a little video. Well done Gina. Enjoy!

Splining Georgina
Again, by request. This time I've done a time lapse which apparently amuses people and then a more orderly view of putting the splines in. Though the background music was by request.

Glassing Lockie's Boat.
This was actually done a while ago. I put it up in the "on the water/ in the Bar" section and forgot about it.
Apparently somebody thinks its instructive.

Here we go with a pair of videos from last summer. April 2018
Both were shot on a Go Pro mounted next to the hatch and editing took out most of the long runs. We were on board Swiftsure Saga with the first wooden mast and I'll be quite clear about it, the boat was responding well to it and we had good boat speed up and down the river. The first video was shot on the 14th of April with a then new Go Pro and it was more or less a test for it.
The second was on the last day of sailing, April the 28th and we'd had a handicap start. It was a great day on the water as there were no spinnakers and it was up to us to sail as well as we could. Did feel sorry for John Wright though, boxed in by a pair of SS22's at Thelma. He could have had us on toast.. but that's sailing for you.

One day on the start line. Wednesday the 16th of August 2017
It's been a while since I added anything, I've been a little busy, but Bruce Miller gave me some footage of a start line.
( The day that Bill Richards broke his mast and had the boat sailing a week later. )
I've compressed the period between 4 minutes and 1 minute flags but there was a good five minutes in the start phase overall.
Not the finest hour for Brian and John on the start line for the H28's, but watch Maverick shut out 3 or 4 boats in one fell swoop in Div. 2.

The Wooden boat Race 2015
It was billed as a day that would bring all the wooden boats out for a great day on the river. Well frankly it was blowing its socks off.
Only Eun Na Mara and a little gaff rig came out beside the H28's and several visiting H28's just shook their heads and said no thanks. Too busy a day. So we went out anyway. Two or three of our boats retired as well with busted bits, but there were a few on the water.

Sailing on the Jin last July 2014
Making a decision and then regretting it is common place when you're setting up a boat, but it can lead for a great day on the water.
The battery lasted the distance and the sailing was fun for a winters day. Did I mention 20 knots?

The 1st Championship race for 2014/5
Sailed on an easterly with the usual fluctuations in angle and strength. Made for some great, if sometimes edgy sailing for the nine boats of the fleet on the water. This is an edit of two and half hours and of course the battery died out at the most inconvenient time.... right at the end.
This video was made in November 2014. A Wednesday racing day
A quiet day frankly, you expect more at this time of the year but then the breeze was out of the West anyway.
We are on board Mariner with Brian Cross at the helm.
